Green Cleaning

With increased demand and advancements in product formulation, Green Cleaning Products are actually providing results that we can call clean. That’s right. Over the last few years, Green Cleaning has evolved to become a viable option for most, but not all, cleaning situations. There are still times where conventional cleaning products are necessary to produce desired results and afterwards, they can be rinsed out by Green Products to achieve a green outcome! AS a rule, My Carpet Cleaning Service uses Green Products whenever it is appropriate.

Green Cleaning, when providing Green Services, I will use green products for the basic cleaning and what limited spot work that is effective. More complex spot treatments are not yet available as green products, as they become available, I will start using them!

 

          Speaking of Green Cleaning, time for me to preach! There is more to green cleaning than just using Green products;      

·         Pre-vacuuming reduces the need for using more products.

·         Pre-conditioning reduces the need for using more products down the line as well as more power to run the equipment being used.

·         Buying product in bulk and re-using containers saves resources and the energy used to produce them as well as to transporet them and pick them up from supply houses.

·         Re-cycling product containers saves resources and the energy used to produce them

·         Impropper disposal of waiste water contaminates our water supply

Carpet Cleaning

Carpeting is designed to capture the pollutants in your home and hide dirt. By the time your carpets look dirty, they’re hiding as much dirt as it takes to grow a plant! Besides removing dirt, our cleaning procedures will remove stains, chemicals, smoke, bacteria, fungus, pollens, dust mites, fleas and other bio-pollutants. So, if anyone living has allergies or breathing complications, there will be less allergens to contend with.

My services incorporate the proper mix of products, leaving your carpets free of harmful or soil attracting residues! In a nutshell my 6 step process is what is specified in the I.I.C.R.C. Cleaning Standard; proper vacuuming (if not already done so), pre-condition, mechanically brushing, spotting, extraction, apply Scotchgard™ if desired, and groom the carpeting.  All of these steps ensure a proper cleaning that will leave your carpeting feeling and looking great without any soil attracting residues!

Upholstery Cleaning

Sometimes upholstery is not on your list of things to have cleaned until there is stain or too many spots to bear, and it may be too late! Human and pet hairs, food crumbs, drink spills, and airborne pollutants get caught in the fabric. If you have allergies or breathing conditions, it’s a must to vacuum your everyday use furnishings on a weekly / bi-weekly basis and have them cleaned every year or two.

Depending on their condition, level of soiling, how delicate they are and other variables, I might be able to clean them in your home or my have to take them the plant for cleaning in a more controlled environment where the can be given a higher standard of care and dried in a controlled environment. Hypo-Allergenic Products & Anti-Allergen Treatments

For people with allergic conditions or breathing complications, we have a special line of hypoallergenic products to use in our pre-sprays and rinses. These Products are Green by there very nature, but even more gentle for those who are sensitive to a majority of cleaning products.

The “Responsible Care” line of products is all Hypo-allergenic and I will be glad to send you the literature and Material Safety Data Sheets for them so you can decide on their suitability for you and your needs. For severe cases, we have an anti-allergen treatment that we can apply to mattresses, carpeting, and upholstery. When warranted, the whole house should be treated at once, starting with dusting and vacuuming everywhere, cleaning and sealing the ducts, cleaning the carpeting, upholstery, etc., and finally applying the anti-allergen. This type of service is something that requires a visit from both me and Morris from Ductz of Montgomery County, 301-946-2555.

 
Fabric Protector

You can count on Scotchgard™ brand fabric protector to keep your carpeting and fabrics clean up to three times longer than similar untreated carpeting. It resists spills and soils even after frequent vacuuming and traffic. Maintenance applications of Scotchgard™ will keep your carpet’s warranty intact.
 

 
Spot & Stain Removal

Spots are usually the result of a spill that have attracted soils from the bottom of our feet to stick to them. With proper precondition, most soils and spots disappear from sight permanently. However, some spots may re-appear if the original cause wasn’t totally removed r cleaning residues were left behind, if that is the case; I’ll be back to treat them!

Stains, on the other hand that are the result of acid dyes, dispersion dyes, or other synthetic dyes that have left a color in your carpeting are another beast altogether! Some samples are:

These types of stains may become permanent, so please don’t do anything, leave it to a professional, without knowing it making even more difficult to remove, or you may permanently set the stain. That being said, even with proper treatment, not all stains will respond, but still, leave it to a pro.

 
Pet Stains & Odor Control

Whenever I clean a home with pets, I use a general deodorizer it’s a must! The deodorizer is applied as a pre-spray and after being given propper dwell time is rinsed out of the carpeting to eliminate any residues that may irritate humans or pets!

 

From one time accidents to the repeat offenses and small accidents to full discharges, Pet Stain & Odor Control/ Removal Procedures vary from spot to spot and area to area. From the topical treatment of smaller on time accidents to sub-surface treatments of larger accidents and the pad removal & re-installation associated with large accidents and habitual behaviors, I have different products and procedures to handle the situation!

Further, I hate to say it, but I must, there are times when I can get rid of the Odor but not the Stain!

 

If you have only a couple of spots , I can give you an idea over the phone. But, for those of you that have a multiple stains or a major problem and are concerned with actually treating your carpeting for pet stains and odor control, I have to inspect the area to make an evaluation and determine the proper procedure to follow. Keep in mind, there is no charge for this inspection! I need to see it to gauge what kind of results to expect. I need to see it to price it! For severe situations, I need to see it to give you my opinion on whether the carpet is salvageable.

 

Odor Control and Elimination

Depending on the odor and the corresponding cause, we have several tools, products and methods at our disposal to treat odors caused by wet padding, burned or spilled food or beverages … etc. Each job is different! After evaluating the problem, I'll provide a detailed proposal with what I plan to do to remove the odor.

 
Air Duct Cleaning

The duct system in your home can be a depository of dust, lint, pet hair, construction materials, and more! I no longer provide these services myself. I have now started referring Ductz of Montgomery County, 301-946-2555. Their scope of work and experience provide a higher level of care than I can.

 
Dryer and Vent Cleaning

As time goes by, load by load the dryer in laundry room is turning your clothing to dry it and there’s lint getting blown out past the lint trap and into the back of the dryer and into the vent leading out of the house. At some point depending on the usage the dryer gets, the unit should be cleaned. The lint build-up will rob your dryer of its efficiency and possibly lead to a fire! They should be checked and cleaned on at least a bi-annual basis. While I’m there doing the carpeting, Tile or Upholstery it is the perfect time to have it done, most of the equipment is already inside, and you will get a great rate! If you don’t want to pay for it do it yourself. Just make sure it gets done!

 
Tile & Grout Cleaning

Why put up with dirty tile and grout. With our state of the art equipment we can quickly clean, seal, and have your Tile & Grout Flooring ready for use before your back from (or to) work. Usually, the average home foyer / kitchen / pantry may take up to two hours.

Wood Floor Care

There is a growing trend towards hardwood floors and it's far better to clean and polish your floors or to clean and coat them than to leave them untreated until the need refinishing.  Whether you need a simple Clean & Polish or a Clean & Coat, I can provide a economical alternatve to calling he wood floor man.
